Option A: Three morning program Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00-11:30 Option B: Three day afternoon program Monday, Wednesday, Friday 12:30-3:00 Option C: Two morning program Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-11:30
Some parents may wish to enroll there children in two programs, providing them with pre-school 5 days a week.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy at Powell
River Christian Preschool is
to provide a caring and stimulating environment for young
children in a Christian setting. The preschool will nurture
a positive and loving relationship with God. The preschool
will develop the child’s self- confidence, self-esteem,
and a positive attitude toward learning through successful,
appropriate learning experiences.
REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATION
There will be a $20 registration fee, $105 monthly fee,
due within the first week of which month. Cheques can
be made out to Powell River Christian
School or PRCS.
WITHDRAWAL POLICY
You are required to give Powell
River Christian Preschool thirty days written notice
prior to your child’s
withdrawing from the program or pay one month’s
fees in lieu of written notice.
There is no reduction of fees for classes missed due
to vacations or illness.
Powell River
Christian Preschool also reserves the right to give the parent or guardian
one month’s written
notice to find an alternate preschool.
DRESS CODE
The Preschool is a part of the Powell
River Christian School and the children will be encouraged to purchase
a T-shirt that is part of the uniform. Children are also
required to have a change of clothes on hand each day
attending. You are also asked to provide a paint shirt
(old t-shirt, button shirt etc) and indoor shoes (ones
your child can successfully put on themselves, these
can be runners, slippers, sandals etc.)
TEACHER
To teach at the Powell
River Christian Preschool, teachers
must be a committed member of a Christian Church, and
hold a valid Early Childhood Education Certificate. They
are also required to have a valid First Aid that is recognized
by Early Childhood Educators Licensing, and also have
a current Criminal Record Check from the RCMP as well
as the Licensing Office, completed prior to working in
the Preschool.
It is the teacher’s role to plan and implement
the preschool curriculum, ensuring it is age appropriate
and Biblically based. It is also the teacher’s
role to maintain a safe, clean and organized room to
assist in the daily running of the program.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
In the case that the preschool teacher is unable to
attend and teach preschool, an appropriate substitute
teacher will fill in. They will have a valid Early Childhood
Education Certificate, recognized first aid certificate,
criminal record check on file, and be approved by the Powell
River Christian School.
VOLUNTEERS
All volunteers of the Powell
River Christian Preschool must have a current Criminal Record check completed and
on file prior to volunteering. This includes the supervision
of field trips, as well as helping in the classroom and
playground.
SUPERVISION POLICY
It is the policy of the Powell
River Christian Preschool to always be supervising the children. Outdoor and Bathroom
times are scheduled into the program to ensure constant
and appropriate supervision and safety of all attending.
